Parent Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct applies to all MadDog Wrestling Academy’s parents:

  • Treat all wrestlers, parents, coaches and referees with the utmost respect at all times.

  • Do not force your child (children) to wrestle, but support their desire to be part of MadDog Wrestling team. Children are involved in organized sports for THEIR enjoyment. Always make it FUN.

  • Be a positive role model. Be gracious in victory and accept defeat with dignity: display emotional maturity.

  • Use positive encouragement to increase confidence and build self‐esteem in your children and foster a respect and appreciation for the sport of wrestling. Encourage your children to develop good practice and match habits in an effort to continually improve their skills.

  • Foster the development of good character by teaching, enforcing, advocating, and modeling high standards of ethics and sportsmanship.

  • Encourage your children to learn the rules of wrestling and abide by them at all times.

  • Recognize the time and effort put in by volunteer coaches. Communicate with and support them in any way that you can.

  • Be responsible for any guests you bring.

  • Respect the facilities where we train and wrestle at.

 

Wrestler Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct applies to all MadDog Wrestling Academy’s wrestlers:

  • Treat all wrestlers, parents, coaches and referees with the utmost respect at all times.

  • If an unfavorable call by a referee is made during a wrestling match, do not argue with referees.

  • Display good sportsmanship on the mat at all times. Bad sportsmanship will not be tolerated.  Examples of bad sportsmanship includes, but not limited to:

 

    • Throwing headgear

    • Not shaking hands with opponent

    • Throwing ankle band

    • Laying on the mat throwing a fit

    • Running around at tournaments

    • Yelling, screaming and/or swearing

If bad sportsmanship is noticed, then the following will occur:

 

  • First notification will be a warning.

  • Second notification would an ejection from the current tournament and the wrestler will not be able to wrestle at the next tournament that they are signed up to wrestle.
